About Tallyfigures
Free, fast and genuinely useful UK finance calculators — no signup, no clutter, and always kept current for the latest tax year.
What we do
Tallyfigures is a collection of free calculators that help people in the UK make sense of everyday money questions — how much of your salary you actually take home, what stamp duty you'll pay on a house, how a pension might grow, or what your self-employed tax bill could be. Each tool is designed to give a clear, instant answer with a plain-English breakdown, so you understand not just the number but how it was worked out.
How we build our calculators
Every calculator is built around the official rates and thresholds for the relevant UK tax year. We keep the tax rules in a single, version-controlled source, and each tool draws from it — so when rates change, we can update every calculator quickly and consistently. Our calculations run entirely in your browser, which means they're fast and the figures you enter never leave your device.
Where our figures come from
Our rates and thresholds are based on official published sources, primarily GOV.UK and HMRC. For the 2026/27 tax year this includes Income Tax bands, National Insurance rates, Stamp Duty Land Tax bands, the Inheritance Tax nil-rate bands, and the State Pension. We show a "last verified" note on our tools and cite sources so you can check the figures yourself.
Keeping things accurate
Tax is complex and changes often — especially around the annual Budget and the start of each tax year in April. We review our calculators against the latest GOV.UK guidance and update them as rules change. That said, calculators necessarily make simplifying assumptions and can't capture every personal circumstance, so we're always clear that our results are estimates, not advice.
Important note
Tallyfigures provides information and estimates only. It is not financial, tax or legal advice. For decisions that matter, please check the official guidance on GOV.UK or speak to a qualified professional. See our Terms of Use for more.
